          Refinishing and Collision Repair at Harford Technical High School is a three year program, In the senior year, students may participate in the Cooperative Work Experience Program.

Refinishing and Collision Repair provides a broad base of experience in auto body repair so that students will realize the diversity of this field. Occupational areas include refinishing technician, metal technician, insurance appraiser, and other automotive related occupations.

Graduates successfully completing the program have an advantage over non-technical high school students. Students have the beginning of a skill that will allow them to achieve a good income within a few years of graduation, as well as preparing them for higher education if they so desire. Students can continue their training by attending technical schools or in apprenticeship programs. Harford Technical High School Collision Repair students also get a head start on Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification.

Area businesses where students may find employment include collision repair shops, retail parts stores, glass replacement facilities, and other auto related businesses.

Successful students in the program possess the ability to be self-directed and motivated to meet craftsmanship standards, work cooperatively with others to complete tasks, have good problem solving skills, and are competent in basic math.
