Students on Work Study for 2009-10

The Cooperative Work Experience Program at Harford Technical High School is a senior elective. Students who wish to participate must have the approval of their technical area instructor, must be placed in a job in their area of study, must have good school attendance, and be in good academic standing. This capstone program provides students the opportunity to earn a salary, as well as their senior technical education credits.

Students in the Cooperative Work Experience Program apply technical and workplace skills learned in the classroom to a real job. Many students are offered full time employment upon graduation. Often, employers encourage a continuing education program including apprenticeship opportunities.

Successful work experience students possess good academic and technical skills, as well as good employment traits. Excellent attendance, attitude, communication skills, and a good work ethic are essential. Students who are motivated and self-directed are in demand by employers. Numerous area employers contact Harford Technical High School seeking qualified students.
